I'm Jonathan Whitmore, an artist and illustrator with a passion for creating timeless, hand-drawn artwork. I recently completed my BA in Illustration at the University of Plymouth, and I’m excited to share my creative journey with you.
I specialise in paintings on canvas, working primarily with oils, acrylics, and watercolours, capturing both landscapes and narrative scenes. When I’m not painting or drawing, I enjoy expressing my creativity through filmmaking on YouTube and occasionally performing on stage. My goal is to infuse a theatrical element into my visual storytelling, bringing scenes to life with atmosphere and character.
My artistic style is classic and nostalgic, inspired by the works of E.H. Shepard, Edward Ardizzone, Beatrix Potter, and other beloved illustrators from the Victorian to post-war era. I strive to maintain a dignified, traditional style—all hand-drawn with a focus on craftsmanship.
I’ve also written and illustrated a few original stories, blending my love for narrative with visual art. My main objective is to offer commissions—whether you're looking for a unique painting, book illustration, or bespoke artwork, I’d love to collaborate and bring your ideas to life.
